Bogeul Bogeul

Cook every ramyun
the way its pack says.

Every ramyun wants its own amount of water, its own time, and its soup in at its own moment. Bogeul Bogeul turns the instructions on the back of 137 packs into three or four steps, and while you cook, it fills the screen with the one thing to do now. No more flipping the pack over with wet hands.

Preparing for release

A free app for iPhone and Android, in Korean. Store links will appear here once it’s released.

Cooking Shin Ramyun: a large 2:00 with steam rising above it, and below, a line saying it’s halfway and to lift the noodles once for a chewier bite

Start right away

Your usual ramyun
is one tap away.

Once you’ve cooked a bowl to the end, your usual ramyun waits at the top of the home screen, and one tap on Cook now starts it. First time? Find the pack in your hand by name, among the ten best sellers, or on each maker’s shelf.

Three or four steps

The back of the pack,
in three lines.

Pouring, boiling, and adding the noodles and soup are merged into steps that fit a screen, so most recipes take three or four. Shin Ramyun is boil 550 ml of water, cook for 4 min 30 s, turn off the heat. The pack’s original wording is there too, and where sources disagree, the app asks you to check the back of the pack.

One big number

The one thing to do now,
readable from the stove.

Each cooking step puts one big thing in the middle: 550 ml and how many paper cups that is while the water heats, the time left across the full width while the timer runs, and how much water to leave, like 8 spoons, when you drain. What goes in is shown as picture chips, named just as on the pack.

The boil-water step: a large 550 ml, about three paper cups, and a stopwatch running since the water went on

While it boils

The right nudge,
right on time.

The line under the clock changes with what’s happening in a real pot. In the last ten seconds the digits turn orange and tick with each second, and at zero the screen flashes, with a sound and a buzz. The screen stays on while you cook, and ±10 seconds and pause let you match your stove.

Collect them all

Every bowl lands on the calendar
and lights up the collection.

Finish a bowl and its pack lands on today’s square. Several in a day fan out like cards, next to your bowls this month, your streak, and this month’s favorite. The collection lays all 137 out on one board, and only the ones you’ve cooked light up in color. Fill a maker’s shelf and it’s CLEAR.

Small touches
for cooking at the stove.

  • Firmer or softer

Chewy takes 30 seconds off, soft adds 30. Choose for each ramyun, or set a default in Settings.

  • Rings even when locked

Locked your phone or switched apps? A “Shin Ramyun, ding!” notification still arrives when time is up.

  • A sound for each moment

A new task, one minute left, and time’s up each have their own sound, so you know without looking. A soft bubbling plays while it cooks.

  • Today’s bowl

Make a “Today’s bowl” card on the finish screen and show it off in any messaging app.

  • Out of it? Coupang

For some ramyun, 쿠팡에서 보기 (View on Coupang) at the bottom of the detail screen opens the product page. These links are part of the Coupang Partners program, and vaisoft earns a commission from it.

  • No sign-up

No account, no login. Your calendar and collection are saved on your phone, and with the screens and pack photos built in, you can cook without an internet connection.

Before the water goes on,
