vaisoft (바이소프트, the “Company”) explains here, under the Personal Information Protection Act of Korea, how the calculator app Multical (the “App”) handles personal information. This policy applies to the App on iOS and Android.
1. Information that stays on your device
Your calculations, results, labels, and settings are stored only on your device. The Company never uploads or sees them, and deleting the App deletes them. The App has no sign-up or sign-in, and no analytics of the Company’s own.
2. Ads and Google AdMob
The App is free and shows one Google AdMob banner at the top of the screen. To show and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google’s ad SDK may process:
- your IP address (which can indicate your approximate location);
- device identifiers (on Android, the advertising ID unless you turned it off);
- ad interactions, such as impressions and clicks; and
- diagnostics about app crashes and performance.
This data is handled by Google, not the Company, under the Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
- In the European Economic Area, the UK, and Switzerland, we ask for your consent with Google’s consent form before ads are personalized. You can change your choice at any time in the App under Settings → Privacy choices.
- On iPhone and iPad, the App does not ask for permission to track you across other companies’ apps and websites, so ads are not personalized with the advertising identifier (IDFA).
3. International transfers
Under Section 2, information is transferred outside Korea as follows.
| Recipient | Purpose | Country | Data transferred |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google LLC (Google AdMob) | Serving and measuring ads, ad-related analytics, fraud prevention, and managing ad consent in Europe | United States and other countries where Google operates data centers | IP address (which can indicate approximate location), device identifiers (such as the Android advertising ID), ad interaction data, app crash and performance diagnostics |
- When and how: transmitted over the network when the App loads an ad
- Retention: as set out in each recipient’s privacy policy
- If you do not want this transfer, stop using the App and delete it.
4. Support emails and retention
If you email us, we process your email address, name, and message to reply, and keep them for one year from the date the inquiry is resolved before destroying them. Where a law requires longer retention, we keep them for the period that law specifies.
5. Your rights
- You can delete your calculation history in the App, or delete the App.
- On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in the device settings.
- In Europe, you can change your ad consent in the App under Settings → Privacy choices.
- You may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or suspension of processing of personal information from your support emails by writing to the contact in Section 7. The Company will act without delay.
6. Children
The App is not directed to children, and the Company does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 14.
7. Privacy officer
- Privacy officer: the Representative
- Department handling privacy matters and complaints: Customer Support
- Contact: support@vaisoft.io
